Rutgers 47th Annual Conference on Reading & Writing
The 47th Annual Conference offers national literacy experts and authors in a one day conference. Participants select three workshops from over twenty that are offered. There are two keynote speakers: Author Mary Pope Osborne and Literacy Authors, Kylene Beers and Bob Probst. There will be breakfast, High Tea, lunch, vendors, book signing, and networking throughout the day.Register at: https://www.regonline.com/RRWC2015

Onsite Professional Development
The center provides experienced consultants to do workshops, coaching, and modeling strategies to enhance teacher performance and student achievement. Professional development is tailored to your school’s needs. We can also offer on site Rutgers courses for credit (additional fees apply).

Hybrid and Online Courses
Those attending meetings can receive course credit that can lead towards a Reading Specialist Certification. For course credit, there are assignments, online meetings, and additional fees.
After School Tutoring Program
The After-School Reading Program, designed by the Literacy Center, provides an on-site intervention model for struggling readers performing below grade level, but not classified. Tutoring is done twice a week for 12 weeks; students can graduate or continue at the end of the program. Tutors are district teachers who can be compensated with designated after-school funds or grant money. A three-hour professional development session will be provided for participating tutors.
